The introductory unit of Congregational Leadership Training, Foundations, has been developed with input from subject experts and trialled by a number of congregations across Australia and New Zealand to ensure that the content meets the needs of congregational leaders.

The training, best viewed as a congregational group, is facilitated by online presentations. Foundations is offered in a format that is similar to a face-to-face workshop, with congregational office-holders and leaders viewing and listening to the presentations as a group and responding to the activities. Individual activities will be submitted online.

Module 1: Congregational Leadership
Content time: 12 minutes, Activities: 2 x 5 minutes, 2 x 10 minutes

Module 2: The Role of Council
Content time: 16 minutes, Activities: 2 x 10 minutes
Total time: 36 minutes approx.
Module 3: Council Responsibilities
Content time: 24 minutes, Activities: 1 x 5 minutes, 1 x 10 minutes
Total time: 39 minutes approx.
Content time: 31 minutes, Activities: 4 x 10 minutes
Total time: 1 hour 11 minutes approx.
Module 4: Our Congregation and the LCA
Content time: 20 minutes, Activities: 2 x 10 minutes

At the end of each completed module, registered participants receive an electronic badge. At the completion of the Foundations unit, a certificate of completion is available for printing. The badges and certificate are important for both LCA and congregational records.
